BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORING

Blood Pressure Monitoring

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) involves measuring your blood pressure (BP) at regular intervals (usually every 15–30 minutes) over a 24 hour period while patients undergo normal daily activities, including sleep.

24 Hours Blood pressure monitors are used to evaluate post surgical patients, particularly those with aortic arch surgery who are at higher risk of developing hypertension (high blood pressure) which places additional stress on their heart. The rise in overweight, obesity and diabetes mellitus in young people is accompanied by an increasing incidence of unrecognised hypertension and long term cardiovascular risk.
