ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY

Echocardiography is heart ultrasound. It is the primary tool of Cardiologists for non-invasive assessment of the heart. A complete echocardiogram to assess heart structure and function takes approximately 40 minutes.

A transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) or Echocardiography is an ultrasound scan of heart done by a cardiac specialist sonographer. Sound waves from heart are collected to do assessment of heart  size and function, heart chambers, heart valves , vessels surrounding heart and other structures of heart. A complete echocardiogram to assess heart structure and function takes approximately 40 minutes.
